The Salt Lake in Savusavu has to be one of the most extraordinary and unique places in all of Fiji if not the world. An abundance of different fish and bird species take advantage of the protection and security the Salt Lake habitat provides and call this beautiful place home. The Salt lake is fed by a 3 km river tidal that flows into the lake on the rising tide and back out to the ocean on the falling tide. This makes for a relaxing and easy paddle in and out so you can really take in the beauty of this stunning environment. While in Savusavu Kayaking the Salt Lake is an absolute must-do experience that will stick with you for the rest of your life.
